I like old stuff...

There are so many great places to see and things to do in Oklahoma City. We have really enjoyed our two years living close to all of the action. Tonight we visited the Museum of Art. They have a special exhibit, Roman Art from the Louvre....yes right here in River City!!!!
One of only a few museums to get this exhibit and for the reasonable price of 12 dollars you can see what the Parisians see. There are 185 very old artifacts, some have never been out of the Louvre before. Not one is in perfect condition. They are old and they look it. Some are only pieces of what they once were. But they are beautiful and they were once touched by people like me just trying to make the best of everyday and trying to contribute to the world they live it.

I was wondering.....two hundred years from now, what old artifacts will our museums display?
Any ideas?

Enjoy the process!

  1. Hopefully not all of the old stuff I have been getting rid of lately. This would be kitchen gadgets, various clothing items and gardening pots. This does not include the things I want to get rid of ----- baseball cards, Ben's MAD magazines from the 90's or a Wisconsin Cheese Head Hat.

  2. I like the Cheese Head Hat myself. I think it might have a chance. Let's see....
macrame plant hanger..with beads, oliver hardy cookie jar, signed bob gibson baseball, coca cola memorabilia.
I was thinking tonight about the pottery in the exhibit. Some of it looks like stuff I might see at a garage sale. As for 20th century pottery..what about Fiesta Ware? One never knows what will be a future past treasure...guess our efforts to declutter might have consequences for the future museum exhibits!
