Knowing your thank yous...for a life well lived

This week we have experienced three losses. The loss of a dear cousin, the loss of a church patriarch, and a friend who has lost her mother. All a part of the season of life yet still a loss. What a joy that the families can celebrate a christian life well lived. Steven Covey, a favorite author and thinker says to "begin with the end in mind". Since funerals are for the living, as I think about the lives of those who have passed, I also often evaluate my own life. Am I doing enough, am I a light to others around me, can others see Jesus in my face? How will I be remembered? I don't concern myself with what is to be after I am gone, my faith takes care of that, but I do feel challenged by how I am living now.
I have a good friend who on a nightly basis writes down the "thank you" moments of the day. I have been trying this and some days it is not easy. A message to me that those moments were there, I was just not aware of them. I would like for each day to be filled with "thank yous" that I can see. If we all did that then wouldn't there be a lifetime of them...and a life well lived?

May you know the "thank yous" of your day!
