Read these instructions first: "Take one deep breath."
I bet just the suggestion to take a deep breath made you do it. Right?
At my work we use Skype software for online therapy with a webcam. Everytime I sign on to the Skype software I see a big sign that says "Breathe." One of my co-workers put the sign "Breathe" at her desk because she realized that she was holding her breathe during hectic work days.
Sundays are usually a day that many of us take our respite. The schedule may slow down on this day for a while but then comes the late afternoon when it is time again to prepare for the Monday schedule. On some busy weekends I think I go through the whole two days without one deep cleansing breath.
I remind myself today to slow down...relax...and remember to breathe. Take time to notice my surroundings and reflect on thankfulness, pray for my friends who need a thought and even pray for my own needs. I will at least do this today...for tomorrow I will get in my car for the short commute to work and I know I will experience some of this:
I'll be thrown a few curves!!!
Maybe lose my direction and focus!
Or maybe run into a moose!!!
So for today..this day I will rest.....and breathe....and notice!
Abundance is...."taking the long scenic route home."....on Sunday.

ReplyDeleteI'm off to start my Monday...I think I'm ready for some curves and trying to remember to BREATHE... :-)
What a fun post!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much more relaxed you can be if you just concentrate on your breathing for a couple of minutes.
Cute, cute blog lady!
About two months ago I became convicted that I should not be catching up on business work or classwork on Sundays. It's the Lord's day and should be reserved for worshiping Him and nurturing relationships that matter.
ReplyDeleteLast weekend I was going to "compromise" that conviction and sneak in an hour or two of work Sunday night (because I was so far behind.) I walked into church and my pastor preached an awesome message about "the dangers of drifting" from convictions like keeping the Sabath holy. It was exactly the wake up call I needed - I didn't do work.
Here's a link to the message - it is in the top 5 that I think he has ever done in my opinion.

Just breathing over here. . . and breathing . . . .and doing a little breathing and did I tell you we are breathing?? thinking of you!
ReplyDeletegreat post!
ReplyDeleteThis "breathe" is something I tell my friends all the time when they are rushing to coffee to this to shopping to that - it's so silly!
Oh yes...great minds think alike. That is a bit "freaky" but very cool! Great post!
