Kick Back Weekend!

Too many late nights are catching up with me. I am going to take some of my own advice that I shared with Caroline at "The Zen In You". I am going to rest. I will be hanging out and enjoying a book. I haven't decided if I am going to start "The Shack" as recommended by Live.Love.Eat, or "Boomsday" as recommended by Storytellin' Mama. Their reviews were so good I bought both.
Check out my Monday post on "Three Sites To See"...I have chosen three more very different sites!
Have a great weekend!
Abundance is.. a weekend to do anything I want to do!!!

  4. The Shack is great! Another blogger recommended it to me and I read it on vacation this year. Easily the best book I have read this year.
    Enjoy your weekend!

  5. Lucky you! I haven't read "The Shack" yet, but I have it on my list. I actually had extra days at home, but they seemed to disappear as quickly as they appeared.

    Enjoy your book... :-)

  6. About time you took your own advice and hang loose and enjoy reading a good book.
When I am on holidays seems to be the only time I do alot of reading.....I am away from the computer, no housework, no responsibilities......heaven!

With reading it doesn't matter what the weather is like outside, we are relocated to another world, another time, another dimension.

    Take care

  7. That sounds like a bliss weekend. I LOVE to read! I read "The Shack", and found it to be really thought provoking, and life changing. My husband read it (he never reads for pleasure, but I MADE him) and he said it changed his life forever. You gotta love a book like that. I guess that means I highly recommend it also! I hope you enjoy it.

I am currently sucked into the "Twilight" series also recommended by Live.Love.Eat. It is silly mindless reading, but so fun. You need some books like that every now and then.

Also, I am going to have a special prayer for your husband on Wednesday (at Zen Prayers)...so send all your friends over so we can send lot's of good energy his way!

  10. Your noodle casserole sounds perfect for us. I'll give it a try. I understand what you mean about the "comfort" not really taking our problems away. But at least for a little while one can savor the taste of something that reminds us simply of home. I know exactly how your daughters feel. Funny that you have a different thought-connection to their comfort food! But to them, it's a connection with you.

  13. The Shack is on my list, in my purse actually. But I am currently finishing "Look Me in the Eye" from the brother of the author of Running With Scissors. It describes growing up with Asperger's before people knew what it was. It is quite interesting.

I hope you enjoyed your rest.
